Thinkorswim Options Trading Tutorial

Did you know that you can trade options contracts on the D.O.M. just like futures contracts? If not, then this video is about to blow your mind. Did you know you can display the trade history of an individual option contract in a chart, just like Socks, Futures and Forex? This video shows you how to enter and manage a trade for individual options contracts using the D.O.M. (Depth Of Market). Thinkorswim refers to this as “Active Trader”. Futures traders love using the D.O.M. to enter and manage their day trades. Now you can follow along using fixed risk and much lower capital requirements. Easily manage bracket orders using drag and drop to modify orders. Set up OSO orders to automatically add stop and limit orders to your position. This is like “Training wheels for futures trading”. Thinkorswim Options Trading Tutorial is the video that will explain it all with very easy to follow step by step instructions.

your the first person that actually produced a video that’s understandable. I’ve watched it few times an it’ all making sense now. I have alittle experience day trading but options limit risks so it’s a lot better for beginners to grow an account. Thanks for such a clear video.

Jim Burzenski says:

It’s been a while since you posted this video but I’m hoping you can answer my question. I trade spreads and would like to find a way to place a spread on a chart for the Think or Swim Platform. I spoke with one of their reps and they told me to copy the first link (which I understand) then hit the minus key, go back to your next option, copy it and hit control V a second time and they both should be displayed. Not working. I am familiar with color coding and linking but this has me stumped……..thanks!

Nice vid. Im getting that bug in ToS too, price action stops working, after a bit sometimes you cant process orders. Shame, ondemand is POWERFUL, but if its not functional its useless. Only happened in the last month or 2 i think.

Thomas Collado says:

Very nice video, thank you.

jerry oliver says:

i believe that when you have the futures up ondemand, you have to use the current contract symbol, so enter in /ESM6 to use the ES in ondemand.

phalanxtrader says:

good video, can you explain the addionally symbols behind BID and ASK, i.e. like X, M, T, B, Q and so on? maybe its codex for the different options exchanges?

Brian Griffin says:

Jesus at first glance its so much more complicated than Futures but im going to keep at it, good to know you can use the DOM, thanks for video.

I started using the software for paper trading, but the quotes are delayed 20 minutes. I plan on opening an account with $1500. Will the data change from delayed to real time after the account is funded?
