My top books for learning technical analysis. Several of you have asked me for books I would recommend. There are many great ones so narrowing it down to 5 was no easy task but here are my top choices for those wanting to learn TA.

1. How To Make Money In Stocks – O’Neil
2. Volume Price Analysis – Coulling
3. Japanese Candlestick Charting – Nison
4. Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets – Murphy
5. Encyclopedia of Chart Patterns – Bulkowski

Hey man, love your videos, you could have considered using referral links for Amazon or what not to earn some free dollar. It doesn’t cost us extra and you get a little bit for your effort. I’ve read some of these but will order the others now. Would you consider doing a video on how you keep track of trades/profits like excel sheet templates etc you use? Take profit/cut losses something like that? I’m really interested in seeing how you organise. Thanks again.

Tom Dobbels says:

Thanks for the recommendations! Needed a couple of these since there are so many books out there. Hard to tell which are actually good or not. Would you happen to have any extra for in-depth explanation of the Elliot Wave principle?

Never heard of any of these books.
Not sure, whether technical analysis is even worth investing so much time into.
I think at the end of the day, people trade based on their emotions. The indicators might be lined up perfectly for a rise or fall, but there are so many influences on people to ether buy or sell that the opposite is almost as likely to happen. Not to mention, that a whale(especially in lower volume cryptos) can just feel like selling/buying and all predictions are worthless.
I’m curious if someone has a counter argument.

Speaking of books a just received a book called “Adaptive Markets: Financial Evolution at the Speed of Thought”. Might be worth checking out.
